WordPress v4.2.3 Shortcode API Changes

The WordPress Shortcode API is a simple way for site owners to produce content in their Posts/Pages without needing to write any HTML or PHP code. For instance, WordPress itself makes it possible for you to insert an image gallery using: [gallery id="123" size="medium"] (a WordPress shortcode). When WordPress v4.2.3 was released, the shortcodes for many WordPress plugins stopped working, including some of the s2Member shortcodes (depending on how they were used). Under the right circumstance,...

ccBill and AliPay No Longer Supported

As of today, we are officially deprecating the integration with ccBill and AliPay, and announcing that our intention is to phase out support for ccBill and AliPay over a short period of time. s2Member Pro has included ccBill and AliPay payment gateway integrations for quite a few years now. However, we stopped advertising and/or featuring these integrations in any official way approximately 2 years ago. To clarify, we will not be working to enhance or update the existing integration with ccBi...

Authorize.Net Announces Akamai Endpoints

Authorize.Net recently announced that they will be updating their API endpoints in a way that allows them to take advantage of Akamai. For the moment, this has no impact on existing s2Member installations. Our plan for the short-term is to do nothing, as these new endpoints could potentially cause problems with some web hosts that have already whitelisted Authorize.Net's API. So for us to change it now, when the change was just introduced so recently, would be a bad move in our opinion. Inste...

PayPal Dispute Case Tracking Changes

PayPal recently emailed all merchants with details about an upcoming change in the case_id that is sent in dispute-related IPN data, which PayPal sends to s2Member and s2Member Pro behind-the-scenes. This change has no impact on the s2Member or s2Member Pro software, because it is the event itself (e.g., dispute or chargeback) that s2Member will respond to (if configured to do so). We look for txn_type and case_type. The case_id is of no importance to s2Member or s2Member Pro at this time. In...
